The Difference You Will Make:

We're looking for a Human Resources Business Partner (Talent Partner at Airbnb) who will be a strategic partner to our Community Support teams. This person will be a key part of the Community Support leadership teams they support, acting as a trusted advisor and thought partner. The successful candidate thrives in a fast-paced and challenging environment, has a passion for building and refining processes and practices, is strong in influencing and mentoring others, and builds strong relationships with leaders and employees. We need an HR thought leader who can balance the need to be a strategic business partner along with a roll up your sleeves attitude.

A Typical Day: 

Business Partnering Responsibilities:

  • Key clients: Community Support leaders based in the America’s region.
  • Proactively shape talent priorities to align to business strategy and changing needs. Help shape the appropriate culture. Diagnose and define programs and support needs to optimize business performance.
  • Advise and coach people managers and employees on matters that require intervention and functional guidance. Help the workforce gain skills to operate effectively as business grows and scales.
  • Advocate for teams and represent their needs to the regional and global talent team and senior leadership.
  • Promote a culture of feedback and open communication.
  • Mediates between team members when appropriate and escalates to senior leadership and the broader talent team if necessary.
  • Work with managers and advise on performance and behavioral issues. When appropriate, escalate to broader talent and legal team.
  • Detect potential trends and patterns to inform organizational insights and contribute towards proactive planning and issue mitigation.
  • Understand and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to manage performance, trends and impact.
  • Promote, strengthen and embed Airbnb Core Values and Diversity and Belonging across the organization.
  • Partner with the broader Community Support Talent Team on Community Support-wide initiatives.

COE Partnership:

  • Partner with EX Centers of Expertise (COE) to plan, manage and support cyclical programs including (but not limited to) performance management, annual compensation reviews, talent reviews and employee listening. Share content and process feedback with COE teams to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Partner with our recruiting team to ensure a positive and seamless candidate experience.
  • Educate employees and managers on our compensation and benefits programs.
  • Understand the needs of the team and make recommendations regarding recognition and rewards programs.
  • Partner with Legal and Employee Relations (ER) teams on handling ER issues in compliance with employment regulations.
  • Assist the business with all aspects of the Talent Management process and performance reviews.

Your Expertise:

  • 10+ years of progressive Talent/HR experience in a high speed, high growth environment.
  • Background working with supporting customer service or operations teams regionally and globally.
  • Experience in employee engagement, performance management and coaching, compensation programs.
  • Employee Relations deep expertise and experience in local laws and administration of performance management particularly in Ireland. 
  • Experience managing, leading, and coaching teams and people, both formally and informally.
  • A high energy, thoughtful Talent Partner who can work at a detailed tactical level and also see the big picture.
  • Ability to balance competing priorities and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment and often under conditions of ambiguity.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills to effectively support and connect with a global, diverse and valuable team.
  • Strategic mindset and creative problem-solving skillset. Ability to zoom in and out to see both the big picture strategic landscape, and the detailed design decisions that ladder up to that vision.
  • Well-developed analytical and influencing skills, unquestioned integrity and a confident presence to effectively resolve sensitive employee issues.
  • Experience working for a global company in a global role
  • Genuine curiosity and strong desire to continuously learn and grow.
  • Self-directed and highly independent. Comfortable with being remotely managed.
  • Great at collaborating with employees at all levels and with many different teams.
  • Ability to be patient and communicate respectfully in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to perceive, understand, judge, and come to a reasonable and logical conclusion in order to have the best outcome in any given situation.

Your Location:

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care of You:

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.  

Pay Range$164,000—$200,000 USD
