The role

We’re looking for a new Team Lead HR Business Partner in our Berlin Headquarters. This role supports HQ / Global stakeholders in specific Commercial functions, directly manages a team of 1-2 HR BPs / People Specialists and reports to the Director of Commercial HR Business Partners in HelloFresh SE.

As a Team Lead HR BP, you and your team serve as a critical bridge between your stakeholders (leaders, people managers and employees), the rest of the People Team, and other functions. Your operational goal is to drive the effective alignment, design, and implementation of people-related initiatives for your supported business. Your strategic goal is to drive the talent management outcomes which will help HelloFresh achieve its goals as a high-performing business and as a progressive employer.

Role summary

The Team Lead HR Business Partner:

  • Has extensive knowledge of market trends and best practices across the People space - especially in Talent Management topics - to function as a credible advisor to the business and a respected sparring partner for their team & peers
  • Partners with top management to co-create impactful people solutions and drive organisational change at the functional level
  • Provides organisational alignment by representing their supported business segment to other People teams and other HelloFresh functions
  • Builds a high-performance team by role-modeling high standards, creating an enabling environment, and ensuring the team delivers on commitments
What you’ll do
  • Support business leaders and people managers in developing an organisation that indexes high on followership and HelloFresh DNA at all levels 
  • Understand the business strategy and challenges of the organization to collaborate with leadership to identify the right HR priorities and roadmap for their function
  • Coach and enable people managers to ensure they are fully-equipped to help the company retain and develop our best talent
  • Participate in design discussions and lead/support the implementation of programs / initiatives owned by the HRBP team or other People teams; i.e. talent and organisation reviews, succession planning, competency frameworks, functional career paths, performance management, employee engagement, HR policies, internal mobility, L&D plans, people analytics, people systems and rewards topics
  • Independently support the design and implementation of organizational change and restructuring projects in your supported functions
  • Facilitate the successful implementation of programs / initiatives by ensuring effective comms and collaboration across all stakeholders and teams involved
  • Leverage the full potential of People Analytics data, using it to develop insights, strategies and solutions to help you and your stakeholders achieve talent objectives
  • Proactively work to improve (as appropriate) the policy, process, systems and general HR practices of HelloFresh to better align with desired business outcomes
  • Assist in resolving employee relation issues, conduct effective escalation case investigations, and recommend well-considered actions for sensitive and / or complex situations
  • Partner effectively with the Works Council to understand and meet their requirements as part of the larger business / people programs and initiatives you support
  • Hire, develop, enable and manage a high-impact team consisting of the right people with the right skills to deliver the business outcomes we promise to deliver
  • Have the depth in at least 1 HR / Talent Management topic to emerge as a credible subject matter expert who can advise the HRBP team on it and lead related projects 
  • Engage with the wider People team and other functions to build relationships, drive greater alignment, clarify roles & responsibilities and increase productivity
What you’ll bring
  • Min. 5-8 years relevant HR Business Partnering experience (or mix of HRBP and similar experience in other disciplines like rewards, people analytics, performance management and talent management). This experience should preferably have been within a large Tech or E-Commerce company, ideally supporting Commercial functions in some form
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience
  • Proven track record in independently planning, developing and implementing various People projects (i.e. performance management, employee engagement,Talent management, change mgt) across the entire employee lifecycle
  • Bachelors or Masters degree, relevant field of study is a plus
  • Written and spoken fluency in English is a must (German is a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of labor regulations in Germany is a must (other markets are a plus)
  • Experience of working in an environment with works council is a plus
  • Experienced with office software; ideally Workday, MSOffice, G-suites and Tableau

  • Be an expert communicator with structured thinking, highly articulate speech, strong writing skills, ability to tailor messaging to the audience and high EQ
  • Come with strong problem-solving skills where you can analyse complex problems, focus on root causes to create effective solutions and implement / influence solutions
