Job Description

As the Territory Sales Manager for the Paris Region, you will be at the forefront of driving business growth and leading our field sales team in this key market. Your primary responsibility will be to recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team of Outbound Account Executives and Field Sales Consultants, ensuring they meet and exceed aggressive sales targets. This role is critical in building a competitive and motivated sales team that will help SumUp capture significant market share in the Paris region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and retain top-tier field sales talent, fostering a high-performance sales culture within your team. Aim to build a team of 10-20 Field Sales members.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed monthly revenue targets, aiming to add a minimum of €180k in new annualised net revenue every month.
  • Personally lead key client acquisitions to understand the product and sales process deeply, and adapt existing sales strategies, tools, and frameworks to the French market.
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, keeping them informed of progress and challenges, while also ensuring alignment with the broader company strategy.
  • Implement and maintain SumUp’s Sales DNA playbook within your team, ensuring consistent and effective sales practices across the region.
  • Regularly review and manage the performance of your team, identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Be actively involved in strategic field sales projects, championing sales performance and setting an example for the team. 
  • Build a playbook for other Territory Managers who will join and come onboard.

Qualifications:

  • Overall, 5+ years of sales experience, ideally within Merchant Services, PoS, SMB sales, or related fields.
  • Experience in field sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial or team lead role. 
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, and lead high-performing sales teams. A coaching style of leadership is highly preferred.
  • Experience in the French market, with an understanding of local dynamics and challenges.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and French. 
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach, customer-centric mindset, and the ability to work across different cultures.
  • Entrepreneurial, growth-obsessed, and passionate about building and leading successful sales teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to travel regularly within the Paris region.
