About the job

The Vice President of Talent Acquisition (TA) will own the global strategy and execution of attracting and hiring new employees (Twilions) while ensuring the team innovates, optimizes and thrives. Reporting to the SVP of People Partnerships, this VP will lead a team of TA Directors and work cross-functionally and collaboratively across all levels of the organization. 

We are seeking a leader to elevate and optimize our recruiting efforts, processes and culture. Through close partnership with People Team partners and Executive stakeholders, this leader will ensure Twilio’s TA team consistently delivers the hires that align with Twilio’s overall business priorities. Twilio’s TA team is at an exciting inflection point; we need a strong leader who can ideate, build and execute solutions to cutting edge issues such as how Twilio leverages AI in its hiring processes, incorporates talent intelligence into Twilio’s overall talent strategy, and influences and executes on a global workforce plan.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Create recruiting-strategies to ensure alignment between business objectives and candidate experience
  • Develop, prioritize, and deliver on comprehensive workforce plans and hiring strategies for teams across Twilio in partnership with the business leaders
  • Build strong relationships across functions and customers both internal and external to the People Team 
  • Generate the strategy and long term vision to grow our diverse talent pools
  • Influence and make decisions grounded in data, holding the function accountable with KPIs to help drive business outcomes
  • Create a candidate centric culture that aligns with the Twilio Magic Values and broader Talent Acquisition function priorities

Required:

  • 15+ years of recruiting experience and 5+ years in a global leadership capacity where you have partnered directly with the VP/C-suite
  • 10+ years experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, global environment that is experiencing significant scale
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders at the VP/C-suite level in a demanding and high-performing work environment, and ability to develop strong trusting relationships at all levels
  • Proven ability to effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex global business issues, helping achieve business goals
  • Deep experience of multiple recruiting functions
  • Understanding of recruitment laws and regulations in multiple regions and countries 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to effectively serve as the face of the employer brand 
  • Proven ability to hire, develop, engage and retain a high performing team, with multiple layers of management and across a variety of TA disciplines

Desired:

  • Experience partnering to build and execute on talent strategies and workforce plans
  • Experience operating in companies that have gone through significant change cycles

Location

  • This role will be remote, and based in the USA.
  •  

    Travel

    The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

    • Based in Colorado: $245,000 - $306,000.
    • Based in New York, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area):  $245,000 - $306,000.
    • Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California:  $245,000 - $306,000.
    • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.

    The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
