Appian is looking for a high-energy, results driven Solutions Consulting leader to drive and manage the growth of our Global Solutions team.  

The Vice President (VP) of Solutions Consulting is responsible for all technical sales activity globally.  This includes the strategic and tactical execution of company sales initiatives, and the definition and implementation of sales engineering processes and best practices. The VP of Solutions Consulting works closely with the CRO and other senior executives to drive the overall company strategy. The VP of Solutions Consulting has direct oversight over all Solutions Consulting managers and staff globally to ensure consistent and effective delivery of technical sales efforts.

In this role, you will :
  • Partner with the Chief Revenue Officer to achieve the global sales quota and to deliver against Appian’s strategy

  • The delivery and execution of Appian’s Global pre-sales engagement, business strategy and thought leadership 

  • Build and drive a best in class Global Solutions Consulting organization that has a “one team” approach and delivers results.  

  • Define and implement best in class technical sales processes and procedures to ensure a strategic partnership within the sales organization 

  • Educate and training technical and non-technical sales staff

  • Direct leadership for a team of Solutions Consulting AVPs

  • Lead efforts to ensure the delivery of all technical resources into sales campaigns

  • Assist in the production of RFPs and other proposals to clients

  • Propose technical and creative business solutions in support of sales activities

  • Present technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to a C-Level audience

  • Assist with the radiation strategy within global accounts by building customer relationships

  • Work with senior leadership in other departments, especially Sales, Product & Engineering, Marketing and Customer Success, to ensure effective collaboration and strategic alignment within the company

  • Mentor and train direct reports

  • Defining and measuring SC impact, and aligning energy to activities that deliver the best results

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 10 + years of experience building and leading elite pre-sales organizations, global experience is a plus

  • 10+ years of experience in a second line leadership role with a track record of success tied to forming and inspiring results driven teams 

  • A customer first mentality and the ability to understand business value 

  • A data first approach followed by the inquisitiveness and obsession to find the “why” behind trends

  • Success tied to building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
