About the roleWe’re looking for a Vice President of Strategic Planning to define and lead transformational projects that improve the effectiveness and value capture across the Crunchyroll organization and support our mission to be the world’s destination of choice for anime. You will develop a deep understanding of Crunchyroll’s company strategy, opportunities, and operational challenges and define appropriate solutions to address them. You will ensure that our company goals and priorities are clear and consistent across teams - and that we are on the right trajectory to achieve those goals. You will lead the operating rhythms that support our business planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement, overseeing objectives and key results (OKRs) management, facilitating quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and more. You will partner with senior leaders across our businesses and functional teams on all aspects of strategic planning, including: organizational strategy, investment decisioning, efficient operations, executive presentations, objectives and key results (OKRs) management, internal quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and communications on key updates and overall trajectory.
You will be a member of the Strategy & Planning Leadership team and report to the Head and SVP of Strategy & Planning, as part of Crunchyroll’s COO organization.
The impact you will have:
- Understand Crunchyroll’s company strategy, how it translates to our strategic priorities and goals, and how to use those insights to direct the objectives and key results of the company and leadership teams in a clear and consistent way
- Develop and lead the biannual objectives and key results (OKRs) process end-to-end, including strategic framework, process and system redesign, and company-wide management, communications, and training on new process
- Track progress and report on company and team OKRs in a recurring cadence and format to foster understanding, accountability, and coordination across the company throughout the year
- Create and lead internal quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and planning by collaborating with senior leaders across our business and functional teams; support the Partner Management team with external QBRs, as needed
- Capture and track progress on priority lists, including key decisions, opportunities, milestones, and escalations, for Crunchyroll’s Senior Management Team (SMT)
- Manage monthly company-wide calendar with key business and operating beats and milestones, collaborating with teams to collect and update inputs; communicate calendar with SMT and VP+ community on a weekly basis
- Support the SMT with meeting agenda setting, incorporating OKRs, priority lists, and calendar, and help the SMT communicate on progress, key updates, and changes to the VP+ community via a timely, recurring cadence
- Partner with Finance and Data & Insights teams to facilitate annual, mid- and long-range strategic planning cycles, ensuring consistency in planning assumptions, goals, and strategic roadmap across OKRs, forecasts, and QBRs
- Organize, and on occasion lead, projects with a broad set of contributors, collecting input from relevant business and functional teams and ensuring alignment on goals, plans, and deliverables
- Draft communications and own content development for executive updates on relevant topics for Crunchyroll’s President and COO’s internal and external meetings, offsites, and other speaking engagements
What we look for:
- 15+ years of relevant experience in a similar leadership role or as a Chief of Staff; management consulting experience and/or MBA preferred
- Strategic planning, partner and stakeholder management, and/or program management skills with track record of achieving quantifiable results
- Understanding of media subscription models and DTC principles and methodologies working in dynamic media and entertainment organizations
- Excellent cross-functional communication and relationship building skills with senior leadership teams
- Proficiency in growth and business strategy formulation, data-driven decision making, and business and organizational development

The Pay Range for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Crunchyroll’s Total Rewards offerings for employees.
