The Vulnerability Management Analyst is a key member of the Okta Security team and an essential collaborator with our broader Engineering organization. Executing the Vulnerability Management Program’s strategy. The Vulnerability Management Program is a crucial pillar of the security organizations’ imperative to reduce the threats to Okta’s infrastructure and applications. You’ll be an integral part of building and sustaining strong and effective relationships across Okta with our Engineering, Product and Business Technology counterparts.

 

What You'll Do

 

  • Assist in deploying, managing, maintaining, configuring, extending and automating vulnerability scanning infrastructure and services.
  • Document, review and deliver requirements and recommendations related to vulnerability remediation which follow common industry standards and security frameworks.
  • Understand the technical details of newly published vulnerabilities/ CVEs and zero-days as well as their real risk.
  • Monitor and respond to security inquiries, requests, and incidents.
  • Build data models and queries as well as develop reporting and dashboards for vulnerability metrics, KPIs and scorecards as part of data visualization and storytelling.
  • Connect with internal stakeholders to understand user data needs and translate these needs into business requirements to be delivered by the team’s technical staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Some experience defining school projects, including goals, activities, targets, and milestones.
  • Some experience with open-source vulnerability scanners regarding at least one of these spaces: Infrastructure/ IP based Assets, Web Application, SAST, DAST, Containers.
  • Some knowledge of vulnerabilities, exploitation and remediation. You should be able to explain the nature of most common vulnerabilities.
  • Some experience in Python and Shell.
  • Knowledge of at least one of AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.

Qualifications:

  • (In progress) BS in Information Systems or MIS, or related degree

Interns may choose the format of their internship: either in-person at one of our Okta offices, or virtually. We give our interns the opportunity to choose the option that best suits their needs.
