The Data Analyst role is multifaceted - we are looking for someone who has a strong technical and analytical foundation of critical thinking, and has experience influencing and driving business decisions through collaboration.
What You'll Do
- As a Data Analyst, you will bridge the gap between our data landscape and impactful business solutions across CNET
- Gain exposure to functional areas in our data organization such as data-centric product management, machine learning, and business strategy to find your niche and understand the challenges they face, identify opportunities for data-driven improvements and deploy machine learning and advanced analytics solutions in a business context
- You will have the opportunity to customize solutions and value propositions for business specific use cases
- Leverage machine learning algorithms and data processing tools to manipulate large datasets to create data-based solutions
- Own explanation of “what happened”, “why it happened”, and “now what” for large workstreams through deep analysis and analytical critical thinking, communicating out findings and recommendations to technical & non-technical stakeholders
- Analyze the impact of your data products, experiments, and/or deployments, synthesizing and presenting your recommendations in a way that clearly communicates the impact and influences business strategy
- Stay close to the cutting edge in places like deep learning and recent ML techniques to identify how emerging technology can be deployed to solve business problems in ways we haven’t imagined before
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years' demonstrated experience in data-related programming languages such as SQL, Python, or R
- Additional bonus if you have had previous exposure to Looker, Databricks, or BigQuery
- Demonstrated ability to drive business decisions and behavior changes through advanced analytics capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to help identify areas of opportunity where ML/AI could be applied
- An entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen and are capable of coming up with data-driven ideas to create value for the business
- Strong technical and analytical foundation that enables you to communicate effectively with a full range of stakeholders, from data scientists to creative writers.
- Ability to identify and focus on the activities that will drive the largest lift to targeted metrics
- Demonstrated experience working with a consultative mindset - identifying problem, providing solutions, and being able to act against that solution
- Demonstrated willingness and desire to learn how to unblock yourself from tasks outside of your traditional scope to drive broader impact
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Compensation
- USA Compensation Range: $75,000-$110,000 *Note actual salary is based on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.
