YOUR ROLE
  • First things first: You will take on responsibility from day one and become the local People Lead and POC for our senior leadership of our Barleben site.
  • You are the ‘Head of’ for our People Business Partners, People Operations and Payroll colleagues - in your role you give People guidance, are a Leader, Challenger, Coach, and Supporter in critical situations and projects. 
  • This role is a maternity and parental leave cover limited to a period of 2 years.
YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY
  • Area 1: Team Management & Strategic Planning
    • Lead and supervise a team of HR professionals, including our People Business Partners and Operations/Payroll colleagues.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members to ensure high performance and professional development.
    • Collaborate with the site management to develop HR strategies aligned with business objectives.
    • Translate organizational goals into actionable plans for our local People team.
  • Area 2: Employee Relations & Performance Management
    • Act as a point of contact for complex employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to resolve conflicts and grievances effectively.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and ethical standards in all employee-related matters.
    • Develop/Improve our performance management processes to set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and assess employee performance.
  • Area 3: HR Operations & Data Analysis / Reporting
    • Streamline HR processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting via our HR systems and databases.
    • Collect and analyze HR metrics to track key performance indicators and identify trends.
    • Be responsible for / prepare regular reports for senior management on HR-related activities and outcomes.
  • Area 4: Change Management & Continuous Improvement
    • Lead change initiatives related to HR policies, procedures, projects and organizational structure.
    • Communicate changes effectively to employees and facilitate transition processes.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance HR effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Area 5: Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with other departments, such as your local stakeholders in Operations and People-related teams (e.g. Blue collar hiring) but also Finance, IT, and others, to address HR-related needs and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
    • Serve as a liaison between the People department and other functional areas of the organization.
  • Area 6: Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and company policies.
    • Mitigate HR-related risks by proactively addressing issues and implementing appropriate controls.

YOUR PROFILE

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You possess at least 5-7 years of experience in HR roles, with a focus on People business partnering and operations.
  • You have experience in a Production / Warehousing / Logistics environment and its key challenges.
  • You demonstrate strong leadership skills and have previous experience managing a team.
  • You are fluent in German and English.
  • You excel in strategic thinking and can translate business objectives into HR initiatives effectively.
  • You have a solid understanding of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • You exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organization.
  • You are proficient in HRIS and other relevant software applications for data management and analysis.
  • You have experience in performance management and employee relations.
  • You are proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to anticipate and address HR challenges effectively.
  • You are highly organized and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You demonstrate integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • You have a continuous improvement mindset and are committed to staying updated on industry trends and best practices in HR management.
  • You possess strong analytical skills and can use data to drive decision-making and measure People effectiveness.
  • You are adaptable and open to change, with the ability to lead and support organizational change initiatives.
