Legal Counsel - Commercial (German-Speaking) (d/f/m)
This position can be office-based or fully remote from one of the following countries: Germany, Spain, Ireland, the Netherlands, or the UK. Be our expert in all customer facing negotiations and help us develop and evolve our contract structure to serve our EU customers - focus DACH market. Role Responsibilities: What you'll do- Be a business enabler by supporting the sales and customer management teams in all aspects of customer agreements, from developing internal strategy, NDAs, through to negotiation and closing of full SaaS agreements
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements (from SaaS agreements to DPAs) to support our EU sales and customer experience teams incl. collaboration with internal business stakeholders
- Advise on contract interpretation, dispute resolution and overall negotiation strategy
- Improve our sales trainings
- Stay up-to-date on relevant industry, commercial, privacy, open-source, IP, regulatory and other legal compliance developments to be able to give the most effective, business-focused, day-to-day advice on a broad range of issues
- Work on company wide projects from a commercial law perspective
- Experience with tenders/RFP necessary; experience with public tenders in Germany is a plus
- 4+ years post-qualification legal experience with at least 3 years of experience working for an internationally recognized law firm and/or 3 years working as in-house legal counsel for a leading technology company
- Strong negotiator with proven track record in supporting a sales organization and in negotiating a wide array of commercial agreements, including GTC, MSA, DPA, SaaS subscription and licensing agreements
- Ability to translate complex technical and legal concepts for non-techies and non-lawyers
- Solid knowledge of IT and IP laws as well as the European data privacy/security laws
- Strong project management, presentation and communication skills, especially with non-legal counterparts (given our SME customer base)
- Structured and proactive thinker with the ability to juggle multiple stakeholder requests at the same time (especially during month / quarter end); Excitement to work in a fast-growing, dynamic environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English; Spanish or further European languages are a plus
