MEDIA DIRECTOR

As the Media Director, you will have ownership and direct responsibility for management within the media group on key brands’ media activities, and possess a broad set of media, marketing and management skills. Media Directors are part of the core team and need to successfully develop a strong relationship with the client, planning team, and management across all media partners.

This is an instrumental role in the development of the company’s strategic media solutions as well as handling a wide variety of department management initiatives.  

Ensure the day-to-day maintenance of the account is handled efficiently which includes some of the following: 

  • Accountable for the marketplace negotiation strategy, activation, overall implementation of upfront/scatter buys, and packaging/presentation of media work 
  • Oversee maintenance of all buys and schedules of all releases to insure goals and client objectives are met; including oversight of brands’ budgets 
  • Successfully build and manage overall relationship with the client; establishing trust and creditability 
  • Assume ownership of client questions and issues related to media; serve as day-to-day contact 
  • Work hand-in-hand with planning team to ensure media strategy and plan are executable and accurate 
  • Manage and develop a team of direct reports
  • Successfully build relationships with senior level media partners 
  • Oversee development of daypart schedules, CPPs, discrepancy resolution, posts 
  • Provide short and long term thinking for the client’s business 
  • Support and attend relevant training and shared learning sessions 
  • Participate in agency and/or departmental task forces 
  • Assist/provide support and media expertise in new business pitches 
  • Understand the role of each department within the agency and how they work together as a business 
  • Stay informed about marketplace conditions (pricing, sell out levels, competition) and marketing opportunities 
  • Check all research and analyze data (i.e. television ratings/programming and industry/marketplace/technology trends) for national activation management and strategy teams 
  • Keep abreast of industry trends through advertising and media trade journals 
  • Supervise the digital RFP process for FEP partners 
  • Work with buyer to insure digital proposals reflect accurate pricing and that programming aligns with title strategy 
  • Confirm all FEP plans are correctly input into the appropriate planning workbooks and decks 
  • Communicate with team such that all tags, IOs and billing confirmations are issued in a timely manner 
  • Maintain knowledge of digital plan delivery and confirm approvals with client if mid-flight revisions are needed 

You have:

  • 7+ years of experience in Digital Media  
  • Analytical thinking - Ability to work with numbers 
  • Teamwork 
  • Establish strong relationships with both outside vendors and the agency strategy teams 
  • Strong Technical Skills (Excel, Powerpoint, Media Math, Media Terminology concepts and applications)
  • Exceptionally strong communication skills to present orally and written in an articulate and confident manner 
  • Ability to follow-through on tasks and be detail-oriented  
  • Ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a number of factors that include, but aren’t limited to, a candidate’s experience and skills relative to the scope and responsibilities of the position. For current CM employees, tenure will also be a consideration.Salary Range$150,000—$170,000 USD
