As the Senior Specialist, Payments at HelloFresh, you will join a cross-functional team reporting to the Manager, Payments of Global Payments. You will be working with local stakeholders to assist in building and managing HelloFresh’s payments strategy and execution. You will support our team with the full payments lifecycle, including processing, fraud detection & mitigation, chargeback & refund management, payments analytics, tools & systems infrastructure, innovation in invoicing and billing, and more. You will drive projects, identify business opportunities, advise senior management, and build a world-class payment infrastructure.

The Global Payments team at HelloFresh is responsible for processing payments periodically as a subscription business, ensuring customers are able to pay seamlessly with their preferred payment method, and managing customer profitability at a company level by various retention based initiatives.

Lettuce share what this role will be responsible for

  • Lead initiatives with cross-functional teams including finance, marketing, and customer operations to improve the efficiency of our payments processing platform, customer experience, and settlement reconciliation
  • Present analysis of daily, weekly, and monthly payments metrics (retry analysis, decline rate/reason analysis, fraud rate/reason analysis) to inform overall strategy to local stakeholders
  • Understand and execute on payments infrastructure of local operations (payment runs, cut offs, etc) with ability to lead projects to optimize functions
  • Main escalation point across teams (customer care and legal) in addition to speaking to the situation at hand with little guidance from management while exercising best judgement of root-cause analysis and conflict resolution
  • Manages different verticals and brands within HelloFresh portfolio 
  • Assist with Payments Operations across all verticals in US and Canada
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • A critical thinker—use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. You have the ability to break down complex, unstructured problems into components of impact and derive quantifiable action items
  • Detail-oriented—careful and thorough in accomplishing tasks, ensuring that one’s own and others’ work and information are complete and accurate
  • Experienced with communicating constructively the results of your analyses to various stakeholders at all levels
  • 2+ years of professional experience, preferably at a payments or financial services company
  • Familiarity with payments-related data, an understanding of the entire payments lifecycle for credit/debit cards, PayPal, and mobile payments
  • Ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Experience extracting and transforming data from structured databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc.
  • Experience with a Data Visualization tool such as Tableau
  • Strong GoogleSheets and Excel skills
