About the role:We are hiring aTreasury Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) Manager, who will be responsible for setting up the relevant methodology, policies and procedures, developing configuration in the ALM (MORS) system related to the Funds Transfer Pricing framework, to ensure the bank has an efficient, transparent and effective Funds Transfer Pricing methodology and platform to measure product risk and profitability through the lens of the Liquidity, Funding and Interest Rate risks.You will ensure Monzo has an adequate FTP framework in place that identifies all liquidity and interest rate risks and transfers those risks to the Treasury to manage. This role is also responsible for leading the FTP discussions, preparing management and performance reporting, and the governance and controls over FTP in line with the policies approved by ALCO.
Role ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing FTP methodology, that covers Liquidity, Funding and Interest Rate Risk components
- Ensuring risk transfer and buy-in is done in a controlled environment
- Overseeing and report performance metrics
- Periodically review and align FTP framework to the overarching Monzo objectives and strategy
- Ensuring Treasury risks are understood and captured/managed appropriately
- Ensuring appropriate oversight of balance sheet and off balance sheet products and their coverage in the FTP framework
- Engaging with the wider Finance on the Bank Profitability activities
- FTP methodology and FTP curve construction, including getting relevant approvals for full operational implementation
- Owning the configuration of the FTP in the ALM system
- Developing and improving controls that protect our business needs now and in the future in terms of liquidity, funding and interest rate risk transfers and controls
- Ensuring policy and procedures documentation is in line with the requirements
- Managing and reporting FTP outcomes in a timely manner
- Helping to innovate and improve the effectiveness of the FTP framework and risk management processes to ensure they work for Monzo
- Fostering positive and collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
You should apply if:
You have the ability to apply strategic thinking and planning skills to formulate, execute and translate business strategy to determine FTP priorities and goals for the business.
- Understanding of Treasury processes and risk management activities
- Knowledge and experience of the ALM system FTP module and configurations required.
- Can demonstrate leadership and ability to initiate and drive FTP initiatives
- Hold an in-depth understanding of the risks embedded in different banking book products.
- Have proven experience within a regulated financial institution / retail bank environment
- Strong awareness and understanding of the wider business, economic and regulatory environment.
- Excellent facilitation skills to regularly assess needs and views product owners, senior management team in relation to the product profitability.
- Have excellent relationship building skills demonstrating ability to listen, influence, present and communicate with different internal and external stakeholders.
