The Role:Our communications team is seeking a talented individual to fill a temporary role covering a maternity leave absence. 

We’re looking for someone who lives to uncover and tell compelling stories. In this role, you’ll be the Global Director of Communications, working closely with the rest (Social Media & Blog teams)of the Global Communications Team, our PR agencies across the globe, the heads of Field Marketing in our offices all over the world (and the global Marketing Team at large), and various other stakeholders including the Executive Management Team, Product and Engineering, the Sustainability Team, People & Culture, Legal and more. You’ll help manage our PR agencies and work closely with global spokespeople, preparing them for press interviews and speaking events all over the world. 

The work you’ll do:You’ll ensure that Celonis’ unique value proposition is effectively communicated with traditional, paid, and social media, increasing brand awareness and driving thought leadership:

  • Develop and implement a local Communications strategy - aligned with the global Communications strategy - to raise awareness for Celonis and its key executives worldwide
  • Supervise our  PR agencies to help them effectively develop the narrative and local messages and positioning based on the global company positioning; provide them with resources so they can best localize global press releases, pitches, bylines, blog posts, social media posts, abstracts, award nominations, contributed content for each of their local audiences
  • Push agencies to build, and also foster your own, relationships with key business, trade and industry media in various regions 
  • Work closely with the local spokespeople, train and prepare them for media interactions, and hone their specific narrative and thought leadership platforms; help to prepare speeches and presentations, keynotes and talking points
  • Work closely with the global communications and the local field marketing teams to ensure materials are on-message and coordinate customer opportunities with media
  • Identify and manage relevant award applications, podcast opportunities and conference/speaking submissions for key executives 
  • Work with our social media team to create local content to engage and grow our global audiences
  • Manage our working students so they can best support the team with speaking and awards, metrics and reporting, research, and other various tasks

The qualifications you need:

  • 5+ years of domain experience in communications; experience writing for a variety of different audiences is desired; PR agency or related media relations experience is extremely beneficial; general journalistic or marketing experience is also beneficial 
  • You must be a self-motivated, passionate, resourceful, responsible communications professional with the confidence and experience to lead complex, strategic programs
  • Technology experience is important and excellent media relations skills and close relationships with business, technology and industry media
  • Native English language speaker; excellent in English writing, editing and proofreading skills, as well as the journalistic ability to identify and unveil stories that resonate with our local target audiences
  • Fluency in business German is a plus
  • Good grasp of Spanish is also an advantage
  • Experience creating compelling, media-ready messaging and narratives
  • A good understanding of integrated communications programs and the ability to lead them with focus on press relations and social media 
  • Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video communication
  • Experience working with senior executives or a C-suite; confidence to deal with senior executives and recommend communication techniques 
  • Pre, at and post IPO experience ideally in the SaaS/enterprise software space is also a bonus
