The role

We’re looking for you to join our HelloFresh Internal Communications Team as International Internal Communications Team Lead in our Berlin Global Headquarters.The successful candidate will manage a team of communications professionals and will play a critical role in fostering a transparent and engaging internal communication environment, ensuring that all employees are informed, motivated, and aligned with the company's mission and goals.

What you’ll do

  • Leadership: Lead a team of internal communication professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and support in executing communication strategies and activities.
  • Communication Strategy: Iterate and execute a comprehensive internal communication strategy tailored to the needs of HelloFresh SE employees. Ensure alignment with the company's overall communication objectives, branding and tone of voice. Work closely with People Team departments to support and boost engagement programs that foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Communications Support: Provide strategic support to the HelloFresh International segment, partnering with local People team and Employee Experience team members to deliver on their internal communications objectives. 
  • Oversight of content creation, including reviews and approvals: Review and approve any content creation and curation, ensuring it has engaging and relevant content, including newsletters, emails, intranet updates, and other communication materials, that keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leaders, department heads, and key stakeholders to understand their communication needs and provide strategic counsel.
  • Change Management: Support communication efforts during times of change, including mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other initiatives to ensure employees are well-informed and comfortable with changes.
  • Overall Function Measurement and Analysis: Monitor the effectiveness of internal communication efforts, collect feedback, and use data-driven insights to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics.
  • Tools and Technology: Stay up-to-date with communication tools and technologies to streamline and enhance the internal communication process.
  • Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address unforeseen challenges and maintain employee confidence during difficult situations. Partner closely with corporate communications to ensure all internal communications are aligned with external efforts.
  • Compliance: Where appropriate, ensure all internal communications adhere to company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards. Own the HelloFresh policy template and where required support the creation of new policies or updating existing policies.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Native or near-native level written and verbal communication skills in English. German and other languages are a plus.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage expectations for business leaders at various levels. 
  • Experience with communication and collaboration tools (e.g., Slack, G-Suite, intranet platforms).
  • Creative, innovative, and able to think outside the box to engage and motivate employees.
  • Strong copy-editing skills and keen eye for detail both in copy and visuals.
