The Team & Role

 

The Product Strategy & Operations team enables Product Management, Engineering, Solutions Management and Go To Market teams with Systems, Tools and Processes. This includes Strategy and Planning, Business Operations, Listening Systems & Learning Paths and last but not least, Release Planning.

 

We are looking for an Atlassian Administrator who is motivated to collaborate, communicate, design, implement, test and operate the tools that help deliver scalable and enterprise SaaS Products.

 

The Atlassian Administrator will be responsible for the operation and administration of Atlassian Cloud based solutions for the Zuora Product & Technology organization. They will also be considered the Subject Matter Expert when it comes to Atlassian products and implementations, in concert with outside professional services.

 

Our Tech Stack: Java, Spring, Rest API, Microservices, Kafka, Spark, NodeJS, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, AngularJS 

What you’ll do

  • Gather requirements for business processes, and determine ways to optimize/improve JIRA/Confluence/BitBucket build and configure
  • Provide application support for JIRA and Confluence to Product & Technology teams
  • Understanding of JIRA APIs , webhooks & integration of Atlassian products with third party tools.
  • Work with P&T users to evaluate JIRA and Confluence plug-ins, determine licensing needs, and perform testing, installation and configuration of the plug-ins
  • Utilize design skills to define JIRA workflows and the related screen schemes for complex and high impact projects
  • Implement strategic vision and group operating model in Jira - turning business practices into daily operating standards in Jira.
  • Create and communicate real time and dynamic reporting based on data pulled directly from Jira.
  • Translate various levels of user requirements into reports, dashboards and planning views. Includes reviewing and extending Jira/Confluence via customizations, applications, etc.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to determine best approaches for implementation, training and communication.
  • Create crisp and concise documentation around the implementation and any customizations. Convey technical and non-technical knowledge to the entire product / engineering organization.
  • Serve as best practice ambassador for the entire team - promoting adoption and usage.
  • Field user requests for enhancement, changes and fixes. Determine scope, effort and priority while communicating updates to users and stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with development from Atlassian and Application Vendors. Communicate any changes or updates and develop contingency plans (if needed).
  • Design and implement Jira plugins(Forge CLI), custom scripts, and automation solutions using Jira APIs, scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, JavaScript), and other development tools to enhance Jira functionality and meet specific business requirements.

 

Your experience

  • 3+ years of technology experience with a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience operating the Atlassian Suite of products at the admin/system admin level.
  • Jira customization experience, through third party applications (ScriptRunner, JSU Automation, Structure, similar plugins) and API integrations.
  • Ability to review various options and determine the most feasible / beneficial path, based on data and expected outcomes.
  • Deep knowledge of Scrum, Agile and implementation across a large and distributed development team.
  • Demonstrated ability to document complex implementations in Confluence in a clear and concise manner.
  • Technical experience implementing and operating enterprise applications.
  • Ability to learn new methods / skills, including (but not limited to) scripting and basic programming.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Enjoy working in a highly collaborative environment and hearing various points of view.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience in Python, Groovy ,Javascript  and familiarity with MongoDB. React knowledge is a bigger plus, but not required.
