The Lead Benefits Specialist is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and management of all global benefits programs. The Lead Benefits Specialist maintains and enhances Appian’s  benefits offerings to attract and retain top talent within the company. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of Appian’s statutory and supplemental benefits programs in multiple countries including expanding our benefit offerings and providing outstanding support to employees.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of best in class benefits programs to support our business goals and attract and retain top talent.

  • Lead annual global benefits renewal cycles, including project planning, cost analysis and communications planning.

  • Partner closely with external benefits brokers to understand current market trends and make recommendations for benefits plan design and carrier selections.

  • Develop and maintain ongoing communications plans, materials and microsites to effectively communicate the value of Appian’s benefits package.

  • Evaluate and lead efforts to explore and implement new benefit options and enhancements for current offerings.

  • Track and monitor financial spend of all benefits programs to ensure alignment with budget and maximum value for our spend.

  • Develop and maintain processes and procedures for administration of all global benefits plans, partnering with HRIS and Operations Teams.

  • Oversee day-to-day activities and providing guidance to a team of Global Benefits Specialists.

Basic qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in global benefits design and management, with a deep understanding of benefit practices in EMEA and North America.

  • Strong knowledge of compliance requirements for benefits programs, including experience with LOA, ADA, and other compliance programs.

  • Experience administering 401k and managing global pension plans.

  • Strong vendor management experience, including experience negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
