About the job

We are seeking an experienced Sales Development Manager to help us build a high performing Sales Development Team. Your role will involve hiring and developing exceptional talent that not only surpasses pipeline goals but also cultivates SDRs into future AEs and Managers in North America.

The Sales Development Manager will partner closely with Sales, Marketing and Enablement to develop sales strategies, content and processes to execute sales campaigns which will generate and deliver qualified leads for sales. 

The SDM will design and optimize outbound and inbound sales processes, and mentor their team to drive qualified opportunities. Their focus lies in creating a robust pipeline, utilizing sales technologies effectively, and nurturing talent to fuel the growth of the New Business sales organization.  In addition, they will be data driven to track and analyze sales metrics to identify trends and improve performance.

Collaboration is key as you and your team will closely align team goals with Twilio New Business sales teams across North America (NAMER).

 

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Lead from the front and motivate a high-performing team of Outbound Sales Development Representatives
  • Set standards for performance metrics and dashboards
  • Ensure team productivity, efficiency and collaboration
  • Drive execution to attain aggressive pipeline and bookings goals
  • Handle adversity by implementing coaching plans, addressing HR issues, and fostering a safe environment for constructive feedback.
  • Actively use sales tools (e.g., Gong, salesforce.com, Linkedin Sales Navigator, Highspot, Outreach) to manage processes, execute sales campaigns, set performance standards, and ensure team productivity.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing & Enablement to craft effective persona based messaging, analyze campaign data for continuous improvement, and maximize outbound effectiveness.
  • Attract, recruit and develop exceptional sales development talent and career growth
Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of leadership in high-growth technology companies, excelling in pipeline generation and closing.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven track record exceeding pipeline goals
  • Expertise in sales prospecting techniques, ABM strategies and familiarity using AI tools
  • Define and implement sales development processes, methodologies, campaigns, and scalable training programs.
  • Experience implementing sales methodology, campaigns, hiring, etc
  • Collaborative, resourceful, accountable and reliable

Desired:

  • CPaaS domain expertise

 

Location

This role will be remote, and based in the USA.

 

Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, and Washington. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.

 

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:

  • Based in Colorado: $115,200.00 - $144,000.00.
  • Based in New York, Washington State, or the San Francisco Bay area, California: $128,000.00- $160,000.00.
  • This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
  • This role is eligible to earn commissions. 

 

The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
