The Manager of Strategic Events in APAC will be a critical member of the Strategic Events team, based in Singapore, with a special focus on internally-produced, first-party strategic events throughout APAC. In this role, you will work closely with the Strategic Events team, the extended Global Corporate Marketing team, as well as Field Marketing and the rest of the Marketing organization to plan and execute first party events to generate leads and drive adoption of MongoDB. You will own the strategy across different channels to drive demand for first party events and build assets including event promotion plans, microsites, registration web pages, and promotion emails. This person will assist with all aspects of MongoDB’s first party strategic events including our biggest educational conferences and global roadshows. There will be opportunities to support third party events, Sales Kickoff, and other field marketing activations and programs as needed.  

This role will be based remotely in Singapore.

Position Expectations
  • Work with the Global Strategic Events Lead on all aspects of first party strategic events marketing and initiatives, with a focus on events throughout APAC
  • A strong and credible planning partner to various stakeholders throughout the APAC region and company, including Sales leaders, Communications, Field Marketing, Partner Marketing, Content, and more. Experience successfully collaborating with these functions to scale and drive success across APAC
  • Experience managing various agencies, suppliers, and event vendors throughout the region, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and budgets are adhered to
  • Develop and drive promotion/demand strategy across all channels for first party events, including email, blog, social, digital across different audiences
  • Manage end-to-end event coordination and production, including: materials creation, event messaging/marketing, signage, giveaways, contract negotiation, vendor relations, site selection, accommodations, participant registration, agenda scheduling, staffing, on-site production, F&B, post-event reporting, and follow up
  • Own program reporting, deliver thoughtful wrap-up reports and ROI analysis, and generate learnings for improvement and optimization
  • Work with the Field Marketing team to drive sales enablement around the promotion of these events
  • Work with the Global Corporate Marketing team, Brand Creative team, Industry & Solutions Marketing teams, and other cross-functional groups to ensure strategic events are supported with well-rounded, multi-pronged campaigns
  • Assist with the flow of leads from events into marketing automation systems to drive conversions and adoption of MongoDB’s products
  • Effectively manage budgets and evaluate ROI of all events

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • 7+ years event, event marketing, or field marketing experience
  • Knowledgeable (3+ years’ experience) with event registration systems (ex. Cvent)
  • Experienced in supporting a variety of marketing and comms deliverables, including email marketing, digital, social, and integrated campaigns from brief development to delivery
  • Deep knowledge of the APAC region, with experience planning events across multiple countries
  • Experience running hybrid and virtual events
  • Proven ability to take direction and input to develop engaging events that achieve organizational goals
  • Demonstrates a metrics-driven approach to success and can show Return on Investment (ROI) by tracking results from Company and co-funded marketing activity against the budget
  • Skilled at creating compelling promotional email content 
  • Familiarity with Salesforce as well as marketing automation tools 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and/or Google Suite
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Proactive, self-starter, “get it done” attitude
  • Comfort working independently and part of a large, distributed, global team
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting aggressive deadlines
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Experience copywriting or crafting compelling, audience-centric content
  • Proven track record designing and executing successful, large-scale events
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally and collaboratively within a global team and organization
  • Flexible and solution-oriented with excellent time management skills
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30%
  • Bachelor's degree
