Okta seeks a skilled public relations professional to build awareness of Okta in India. We recently moved into the Indian market as we believe digital identity has enormous potential in the dynamic Indian technology sector. The company is investing to build a dynamic sales engine and innovation center – and now we’re expanding our PR capabilities into the Indian market. This is an exciting opportunity to create an innovative communications program from the ground up. 

Based in Bengaluru, you will report to the International Communications Director, working closely with communicators across APJ and worldwide. You will drive creative storytelling across owned, earned, and paid media — garnering interest in our corporate, thought leadership, technology innovations, customer, and partner stories. 

While you will primarily focus on the Indian market, the position will lead partner PR across the region and oversee project-based awareness plays in secondary markets, including Singapore and Indonesia.  

As an Okta Global Communications team member, you will operate as one of our APJ regional communications hubs to raise brand awareness and manage corporate reputation. You will work with communications experts across the region and worldwide to influence internal and external conversations about Okta, digital identity, and cybersecurity. 

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with top reporters spanning business, broadcast, and trade media
• Localize global communications strategy and initiatives for local impact
• Drive creative storytelling across owned, earned, and paid media
• Elevate executive thought leadership initiatives to elevate awareness and relevance
• Manage partner PR across the Asia Pacific region
• Oversee project-based awareness plays in Singapore and Indonesia
• Manage Okta’s PR agency across India, Singapore, and Indonesia
• Track and report on progress against key performance indicators, such as feature stories in top publications and LinkedIn engagement

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has:

• 7+ years of experience in public relations at an agency and/or corporate in-house
• Experience in the technology industry, ideally in cloud software or security
• Deep media relationships across technology/security trade, business press, and broadcast media in the Indian market
• Ability to engage with senior executives and leadership teams on high-impact initiatives and strategies
• Excellent writing and editing capabilities
• Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify trending topics and issues with a defined point of view
• Experience managing PR agencies and collaborating with stakeholders across APJ and the US 
• Ability to manage multiple high-profile projects and deliverables
• Based in Bengaluru, India
