Introduction

attocube systems Inc, the US sales & support representative of Germany-based attocube systems AG, is looking for a talented Sales Application Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, USA. As Sales Application Engineer you'll have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and collaborate with a dynamic team of sales and engineering professionals. In this role, you'll play a critical part in driving new business opportunities and developing relationships with customers. You'll work closely within our sales team to understand customer needs, provide technical solutions, and deliver engaging presentations and demonstrations.

Your Responsibilities and Duties

  • Growing sales volume of assigned accounts and/or sales territory (Americas)
  • Manage, interpret, and implement technical and scientific customer requirements with regards to nanoscale resolved optical imaging & spectroscopy at VIS, IR and THz frequencies
  • Identify new market opportunities and generate new leads for our product portfolio at international conferences and trade fairs
  • Team-up to create and present application studies plus implementation and evaluation of customer test measurements 
  • Actively identify our key account customers, establish, and maintain a strong customer relationship through your technical and scientific know-how
  • Managing and maintaining a sales pipeline/opportunities in the CRM system. Help defining strategies for territory and specific market growth
  • Providing first-tier customer support in close cooperation with customer support group
  • Frequent business travels (up to 40%) for tradeshows, conferences, and customer visits 

Your Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree (Master or PhD) in natural sciences (physics, chemistry, materials science or similar) with practical experience in the scientific field
  • Professional work experience in a technical environment
  • Sound knowledge in theory and application of optical spectroscopy methods such as Raman, infrared spectroscopy, or near-field microscopy. Experience in scanning probe microscopy (e.g., AFM)
  • Practical experience in sales & negotiation of scientific instruments and bring an interesting network of scientific & industry research contacts
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously to manage ongoing projects effectively
  • Organized, efficient and ability to work under time constraints
  • Detail oriented, Self-motivated, and trustworthy
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of time (also internationally)
  • Strong interest in technology and willingness to learn about related products and customer needs
  • Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), communication tools and CRM software
  • Ability to fluently write and speak English
  • Knowledge of the German language a plus
