As a Senior Internal Communications Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping to develop, shape and communicate the Google DeepMind story. You’ll be a thought partner to leads and stakeholders across the company to help communicate our vision, roadmap, achievements and initiatives, ensuring everyone across the company understands how their work connects to our mission.

The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Internal Communications Manager to join the team. You’ll play a critical role in leading and delivering our editorial strategy and high-impact global campaigns. You’ll also lead on analytics and audience analysis, and help find innovative ways to engage our global employees.

Key responsibilities:

  • Partner with various leads across the company to deliver Google DeepMind's internal communication strategy, that builds awareness of and excitement about our mission, our research, our products, our values and more. 
  • Lead development of global, cross-company campaigns and partner effectively with internal stakeholders to deliver results.
  • Devise creative strategies for communicating to employees across different areas of the organisation, taking into account the needs of different global audiences. 
  • Create exceptional content for internal channels & platforms - write, edit, and improve our copy across all channels 
  • Use audience insights to inform content planning, analyse trends, identify lessons learned, and proactively propose strategic recommendations for improvements.
  • Partner with leaders and managers at all levels to advise on their approach to internal communications; acting as a trusted specialist who is able to both offer strategic advice and roll up your sleeves to give practical help.
About You

You will need to be experienced in advising on internal communications strategies at leadership level. In addition, you’ll have:

  • Experience working in highly technical environments and translating research-led innovations into compelling product-focused communications. 
  • Experience partnering across a highly-matrixed organisation with multiple-stakeholders. Ability to both architect compelling strategies and ideas, while also rolling up your sleeve and diving into day-to-day activities. 
  • Experience working in an editorial capacity and on multi-channel campaigns within a communications team.
  • Skilled in engagement strategies, content creation and planning, with a strong understanding of AI research and/or tech product landscape.
  • Significant experience advising senior leadership on internal comms and engagement and partnering with them to influence, provide counsel and communications support.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and requirements effectively, prioritising and ensuring delivery of key results. You’ll have the ability to work at speed as part of a team and be happy to roll up your sleeves to give practical help and get things done.
  • Good domain knowledge and experience of the broader tech sector - global trends, challenges and opportunities - and an interest in tech, science, AI, and social impact. 
  • The ability to react quickly and effectively in response to issues or challenges and demonstrate resilience to change.
  • Experience using metrics to accurately measure and evaluate the impact of internal comms and make adjustments as needed.
  • Previous communications experience is a must. Previous experience working with AI or product teams is preferred. 
  • Comfortable working across various time zones (MTV, NYC, and LON), business units and organisations. 

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $154,000 - $244,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your targeted location during the hiring process.
