The Opportunity:

As a Global Social Media Manager, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the voice, presence, and mission of the fastest-growing SaaS software company in the digital commerce space. You will be responsible for crafting our social media strategy, developing content, measuring results, and engaging our community. As our social media expert, you’ll use your passion to develop our global voice, including supporting the thought leadership of our Executive Leadership team.  

Our ideal candidate is a collaborator with a global mindset who can take the reins on cross-functional and cross-regional alignment, understanding the needs of our external audiences and how to reach them. At commercetools, we believe in transparency and are pro-innovation.

Please note that for this role we can only consider candidates based in the following locations: New York and London.

Your Mission:

  • Create our social media strategy and be a close partner on integrated campaigns across the business
  • Develop and maintain a content and social media-based events calendar, and manage social media content moderation and vendors. Set targets and timelines for key brand initiatives and content creation shot lists and production
  • Use a channel-fluent voice and tone that builds enthusiasm and connection to commercetools
  • Encourage and cheer on our most passionate users to amplify their voice and content, fostering community across our channels, including owning the day-to-day execution and management of the LinkedIn presence of our key spokespeople
  • Engage and respond on social media, partnering internally to develop content as needed with Marketing and People teams
  • Measure and report on the program results with a focus on our engagement quality and growth, ensuring data-driven insights turn into actionable tactics early and often
  • Gather, structure, and analyze social media data from owned social platforms, tools (e.g Hootsuite) social media policy changes (e.g algorithmic updates), and external developments (new community management opportunities within Amplify) to derive compelling, real-time insights that drive the optimization of social media campaigns, and informs the achievement of goals (e.g. audience growth, engagement, viewership, campaign/content effectiveness, share of voice)
  • With an emphasis on LinkedIn Lives, conduct in-depth evaluation and analysis of current and previous programs to distill actionable insights, give context, and recommendations for future initiatives

What You Need To Succeed:

  • 4+ years of social media management experience with a track record of building and executing successful social media campaigns and calendars
  • Previous experience working at a Founder-Led or Personality-Led company, and a startup environment
  • Proficiency in social media/marketing tools and content creation tools, with advanced knowledge of X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. Threads, TikTok, Discord, and Reddit are a plus
  • Strong cultural connectedness with the ability to apply and adopt trends and content for commercetools’ audience across platforms
  • Ability to manage a high volume of projects simultaneously without sacrificing productivity or quality, with impeccable organization skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with moderating, engaging, and cultivating strong advocacy within community social platforms
  • Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills, and a knack for employee storytelling
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams in positive, collaborative working relationships
  • Understand the social media universe, as it relates to B2B brands, and stay current with trends, language, outlets, and resources to achieve the best performance across all commercetools social platforms

  • Multi-languages is a plus, particularly German
