About the role

HashiCorp’s R&D Operations team is seeking an experienced Staff R&D Enablement Manager to lead the definition and rollout of multiple enablement initiatives for our R&D organization. The target audience includes engineering, product management, design, and other teams. These enablement initiatives will require formulation of a consistent end-to-end communication strategy, partnering with the internal communications team within the Marketing organization. In addition, this role will include efforts related to new hire onboarding and ongoing learning & development programs, partnering with talent teams within the People organization.

This role will operate at a portfolio level, leading multiple complex programs, driving strategic decision-making, and fostering operational excellence within our organization. The person in this role will be one of the most senior members of the R&D Operations team, working closely with executive leadership on a regular basis. Additionally, this role will be expected to bring in new techniques and unique perspectives, and serve as a coach and mentor to others across the R&D Operations and R&D Leadership teams. This role will need to drive adoption and value realization via outreach, change management, training, and messaging.   

You can expect to take on these responsibilities
  • Lead the definition and rollout of multiple enablement initiatives, focused on accelerating the productivity and engagement of R&D team members around the world
  • Partner with the R&D leadership team and others to foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the R&D organization
  • Ramp up quickly on critical processes and systems within R&D such as Product Life Cycle (PLC), Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and more 
  • Partner with R&D Operations to identify efficiency improvements via more strategic enablement across the R&D organization
  • Partner with Talent Development to enhance new hire onboarding and ongoing professional development programs
  • Regularly assess and refine the onboarding and enablement processes based on feedback and performance metrics
  • Operate as a change agent to accelerate our efforts in increasing consistent usage of critical processes and systems across the R&D organization

  • Proven experience in leading enablement and communications in a cross-functional technical environment
  • Strong understanding of the professional development needs of engineering, product management, and design teams 
  • Strong analytical skills, a second-order thinker who can evaluate alternatives, and make data-driven decisions
  • Stellar presentation skills, the ability to command a virtual room through persuasive and compelling narratives and visuals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels
  • Strong bias for action and an intrinsic ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent organizational and program management skills

The base pay range for this role in the SF Bay Area / NYC area is:$204,000—$240,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in Seattle Metro, Denver / Boulder Metro, New York (excluding NYC), or California (excluding SF Bay Area) is:$187,000—$220,000 USDThe base pay range for this role in Colorado (excluding Denver / Boulder Metro) and Washington (excluding Seattle Metro) is:$170,000—$200,000 USD
