UK Brand Partnerships Lead
About Pinterest:
Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It’s where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. In your role, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping Pinners make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.
Creating a life you love also means finding a career that celebrates the unique perspectives and experiences that you bring. As you read through the expectations of the position, consider how your skills and experiences may complement the responsibilities of the role. We encourage you to think through your relevant and transferable skills from prior experiences.
Our new progressive work model is called PinFlex, a term that’s uniquely Pinterest to describe our flexible approach to living and working. Visit our PinFlex landing page to learn more.
Pinterest is about to have a moment in the UK. We’ve been building a small but mighty team in London, which last year delivered the most successful brand campaign to date, ran Pinterest’s first-ever consumer experiential activation, and built a highly-engaged (if still small) community of Pinners on social. In 2024, we’re going to do all of this, but more: more brand campaign, more experiential, and more investment in social. And this year, we’re adding brand partnerships to the mix.
Partnerships are key to delivery of our 2024 marketing strategy: they have an outsized resonance with our audience, they provide mutual value to Pinterest and the partner, and most importantly - brands want to partner with us.
On the flip side, partnerships are new to the UK market, so this role is about building a function from scratch. It’s an opportunity to run projects end-to-end, to be involved in insights, strategy, creative, measurement and analytics in collaboration with our wonderful cross functional teams. You’ll be the very definition of entrepreneurial - albeit within a large company - and relish the chance to help Pinterest show up in unexpected ways: get creative, have fun and invent stuff.
What you’ll do:
- As a Brand Partnerships Lead, you will spearhead the strategic identification, development and execution of high-impact partnerships, aligning with our business objectives: to drive Pinterest brand momentum and cultural relevance.
- In partnership with the UK Integrated Marketing and Social teams, you will lead on concepting, pitching and negotiating all aspects of the partnership agreement, ensuring favorable terms and mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Once brand partnerships are identified, you will develop sound strategies, briefs and project plans to activate them. You’ll own any relationship with external agencies and/or Pinterest House of Creative.
- You’ll partner closely with other functions including measurement, analytics, audience and product insights, and product marketing.
- You’ll monitor and analyse partnership performance metrics, identifying areas for optimization and growth, and providing regular reports to senior management.
What we’re looking for:
- 5+ years experience in Brand Partnerships, Business Development, digital marketing or experiential marketing.
- Strategic thinker who is capable of translating vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Proven track record of success in developing, managing and leading buzzworthy Brand Partnerships from pitching to execution.
- Strong negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
- Analytical yet creative; has an aptitude to ground strategies in data and insights and translate into buzzworthy conceptual concepts balancing the needs of both Pinterest and our partner.
- Adaptable and resilient with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, manage multiple priorities effectively and navigate ambiguity with confidence. Entrepreneurial in that we’ll be building this function from the ground up.
