About the role

Battery analytics software plays a crucial role in optimizing the performance and efficiency of energy storage systems making it an essential component in the rapidly evolving energy landscape.  We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Energy Sales to lead our sales efforts in the energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the energy industry, a strong record of building and managing high-performing sales teams and a passion for driving the adoption of innovative battery software analytic solutions. This role will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and driving revenue growth. As the Head of Energy Sales you will be responsible for leading the sales team and driving revenue growth for the company's battery analytics software platform in stationary energy storage systems (ESS). 

Your daily business will involve

  • Developing and executinge a comprehensive sales strategy for energy sector clients aligning with the company’´s overall goals and objectives. 
  • Managing and nurturing customer relationships at all levels, from initial lead generation to final contract negotiations and revenue recognition. 
  • Recruiting, training and managinge a high-performing global sales team, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to achieve sales targets and maximize revenue. 
  • Identifying new market opportunities, establishing strong partnerships and relationships with key players, and driving the sales process to ensure successful outcomes. 
  • Collaborating with the company's marketing and product management teams to ensure products and services meet customer needs and are effectively communicated in the marketplace. 
  • Preparing and presenting regular sales reports to senior management, including market analysis, competitive intelligence, and sales forecasting. 
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends, customer needs, and competitive offerings, providing insights and recommendations to senior management to drive continuous improvement and innovation. 

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering
  • 8+ years sales experience with a minimum of 4 years of sales experience in software solutions for Battery Energy Storage Systems, Utilities or Solar PV
  • 2+ years leadership experience managing a sales team with the ability to inspire and motivate
  • Proven success in a complex, large enterprise sales environment, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
  • Deep understanding of the energy industry preferably with a focus on energy storage systems
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Experience in new product and technology introduction, with a deep understanding of market drivers and customer requirements
  • Strong analytical skills for the business, with the ability to identify and interpret key performance indicators and develop strategies to address performance gaps
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory codes and standards for BESS and electrical systems is preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
